Privacy Policy for Shoconnect

Provided by: SHOSOCIAL LLC

Welcome to Shosocial (and the Shoconnect ecosystem). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your anonymity while you connect, chat, and share expertise with people worldwide. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

To provide a secure and anonymous experience, we collect the minimum amount of information necessary to operate our services:
Account & Profile Data: When you register, we collect authentication data, the nickname you choose, and your declared native and secondary languages. We do not require your real name.
Reputation & Wallet Data: We track your internal coin balance (wallet), user ratings, expert ratings, and feedback tags (e.g., 'brutal,''mismatched expectations') provided by other users to facilitate our matchmaking algorithms.
Communication Data: We temporarily process text messages, files, documents, and photos sent through our platform to deliver them to your recipient.
Technical Data: To facilitate real-time video chats, we process necessary network data, including IP addresses, to establish secure peer-to-peer (WebRTC) connections.
Transaction & Shipping Data: If you purchase coins or redeem earned coins for physical goods, we or our third-party payment processors will collect the necessary billing and shipping information to fulfill your order.

We use the information we collect strictly to operate, maintain, and improve the Shosocial ecosystem:
Matchmaking: We use your language preferences and reputation/coin ratings to rotate and match you with appropriate random video chat partners.
Expert Consultations: If you declare yourself an expert, your profile and ratings will be visible to the community so users can request your advice.
Coin Redemption & Shopping Fulfillment: Coins earned through positive communication or expert consultations can be accumulated in your wallet. These coins can be redeemed for shopping and physical or digital goods within our platform. We use your transaction data solely to process these purchases, fulfill merchandise orders, and deduct the appropriate coins from your wallet.

We are committed to the principle of minimal data retention:
Video Chats: Video and audio streams are processed in real-time. We do not record or store your video or audio communications.
Files, Documents, and Photos: Any files transferred between users are transmitted strictly on the fly. They are never stored on our servers at any time.
Text Messages: We do not permanently store chat content. All text messages are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 72 hours from the time they are sent, unless the recipient explicitly utilizes the local 'save messages history' feature on their device.
Friend Requests: To prevent spam, rejected or ignored friend requests trigger a 24-hour cooldown timer associated with your account before you can send another request.

Publicly Exposed Data: During video chats and in communication histories, other participants will only see your chosen nickname and language preferences.
Post-Chat Data: After a random chat ends, your communication rating will be visible to the person you spoke with. Expert ratings are publicly visible in the expert pool.
Hidden Data: No one will see your location, real identity, or any other data that could compromise your anonymity. Only you have the ability to see the exact number of coins in your personal wallet.

We may use third-party services for specific operational functions:
Payments and Fulfillment: When you buy coins or redeem your coins for shopping goods, third-party payment gateways and shipping/print-on-demand providers may process your billing and delivery information. These third parties are bound by their own privacy policies and are only provided the data strictly necessary to complete your order.
Infrastructure: We utilize secure servers and routing protocols (such as STUN/TURN servers) to connect your calls without exposing your exact location.

We implement strict, industry-leading security measures to protect your data and ensure your conversations remain entirely private:
Text Messages: No one has the ability to read your text messages except you and the peer you sent them to. We utilize advanced encryption data-flow protocols to ensure absolute confidentiality.
File Transfers: Files are transferred securely without granting any access to shared peers. We use file-pulse spreading (chunked file stream) technology and encrypted data flows to move files safely and directly between users.
Audio & Video Calls: All audio and video communications utilize WebRTC secure-level communication over a strict, peer-to-peer (P2P) only tunnel. It is technically impossible for any third party to listen to, intercept, or record these communications.

Request the deletion of your account and associated wallet/rating data.
Correct inaccuracies in your profile (such as language or expert declarations).

As we continuously improve and expand the features we offer for random video-chatting, private messaging, public streaming, group communications, and everyday interactions, we may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, via an in-app notification.
