You have the ability to see all of your friends who are in the system and directly call them if they are online, chat with them via text messages, and securely send them files, documents, and photos. We do not save the chat content, and all of the chat content is removed from the records 24 hours after the recipient reads the message, except when the recipient explicitly marks the message to 'save messages history'.
We do not store users' personal data. The only information exposed publicly is the nickname you choose during the initial authentication process. Participants will see your nickname and avatar during video chats, as well as in the communication history provided in the user interface. No one will see your location or any other data that could compromise your anonymity. To connect directly and establish friendships within the Shoconnect ecosystem, users can send you a friend request via the nickname search panel. You have the ability to accept the request and add them as a friend, or completely ignore it. If a request is ignored, the requester will receive a simple message, such as: 'The person you requested to connect with has not approved your request. Please try again later.' The sender must then wait 24 hours before sending another friend request. This mechanism prevents friend request spam while ensuring you still have the opportunity to connect with new friends in the future.
During the account registration process, you set your native language and an optional secondary language. The languages you choose determine your main pool of participants for random communications, ensuring it is convenient for you to speak with them. During the conversation, you will also see your partner's language preferences. If their declared languages do not reflect reality (you cannot understand them, or you notice their native language is set incorrectly), you can use the incorrect language button to flag the mismatch. This helps us correct the language pool for our random communication algorithms, which enhances the quality of our service for you.
Initially, we grant all of our users positive coinage within the system. These coins are a reputational tool that creates a positive presentation of the participant. If the participant is a good communicator, polite, and interesting, you may rate the person you are speaking with by sending them a coin. You also have the ability not to rate them at all, remaining neutral. The earned coinage will build the user's rating as an interesting person to communicate with. You will only see the other person's rating in the post-conversation data table after the random chat session has ended. If the person's behavior was impolite or brutal, you have the ability to mark the conversation as: 'Brutal', 'Mismatched expectations', or 'Not interesting'. These actions will reduce the person's reputation and deduct coins from their wallet (only the user has the ability to see the exact number of coins in their wallet). In cases where the reputation becomes extremely low (close to zero), the participant will enter the low-rated pool. The rotation algorithms will give such a person a low rotative appearance, which leads to very rare conversations. The only mechanisms to restore reputation in these situations are to buy coins or ask friends to endorse the reputation by sending coins directly.
You may declare yourself an expert in a specific field of knowledge, e.g., fishing, agriculture, locksmithing, or programming (software development). As an expert in your declared field, anyone else from the community may directly ask you for advice and consult with you within your area of expertise. Based on your answers, you will be rated by users on whether the question was solved, and your expert rating will grow accordingly. Your rating and correctly answered questions can be monetized via your expert wallet. If your expertise mismatches the reality of the community, your rating will be degraded. The only ways to restore your expert rating are to propose an article in the related field or to buy expert rating points to restore your reputation. Additionally, if you are interested in advice from an expert, you may view the expert pool and ask an expert to communicate with you. You can directly ask the chosen expert via a text message chat to help solve your problem or explain a question you have within their field of expertise. Depending on the rating of the expert, the question may be payable or free. Providing correct answers for free will also enhance the expert's rating.
